To the citizens of the Wellness State.
The Bureau has been busy this month. Three filings in as many cities. Three subjects, all in good standing — biohacker, founder, creator — all caught in possession of something the protocol forbids. The charge varies. The offence doesn't: they were thirsty for something it won't authorise.
We made that something. We sold it to them. We'd do it again.
This is the only confession we're going to write.
Let's clear the air on what we're not.
We're not telling you to stop optimising. We're not suggesting the Whoop comes off, that the 6am alarm gets disabled, that the cold plunge stays empty. We don't have a quarrel with discipline. We have a quarrel with the silence around the moment you choose not to.
The lapse — the Bureau's word, not ours — isn't the problem. The performance afterwards is. Two hours from the receipt to the recovery score, electrolyte in the hotel-branded cup, drinking it openly — that's the part that costs. Not because it's hypocritical. Because it's exhausting.
What we make is anti-pop soda. Three flavours, no nutrition claims, no functional benefit, no adaptogen. The brand does not micro-dose. The brand does not biohack. The brand is the thing you reach for at 02:47, at 23:14, at 06:21 on a deck in Ubud when the camera isn't on yet. The brand is the chapter the Bureau redacts from your file.
We've made it cold. We've made it easy. We've made it expensive enough that you'll know you bought it. We have not made it healthy and we are not going to.
Here is what we will not say.
We will not call you brave. We will not call you authentic. We are not building a community around the failure to plunge. We are not selling t-shirts that say I cannot hold mine. We are not turning this confession into a season.
Yes, we filed that line in evidence. No, we won't sell it back to you.
What we'll say is what we've been saying — the only line we don't intend to revise.
